SkelClaw is my first original woodblock print, hand-carved and hand-printed on traditional Japanese washi paper. The design features a skeletal hand with dinosaur-like claws, inspired by fossils and ideas about human evolution. The hand imagines an alternative path of human evolution, leaving its story open to interpretation. Every print is pulled by hand using traditional Japanese woodblock printing techniques, making each one slightly different and unique. As my first woodblock print, SkelClaw marks the beginning of my journey into traditional Japanese printmaking, combining historical craftsmanship with my own contemporary ideas and storytelling.
